Fluss Ewig

- The Catalyst

Wood shavings and a wooden block with the 'Studio Becker' logo on a workbench.

“Fluss Ewig was designed and built as a memorial for my father and the catalyst to my journey in woodworking. Just weeks after my father passed away, our architecture studio class in college was assigned to design a pavilion-like structure that resembled the character of basket weaving. This design was dedicated to him.

The name “Fluss Ewig” can be loosely translated to “Forever Changing.” It was named this because every angle you looked at the sculpture it changed with perspective and seemed to move when looking at it. It was also what life felt like at the time - forever changing. Lastly, the name is German as a homage to the Becker family ancestry.

I found my passion for woodworking and design through designing and building this memorial and credit my father as the inspiration. Because of this, Fluss Ewig became the first Studio Becker logo and was later simplified to the logo you see today.”
